Sadly, each year in Australia approximately 58000 couples experience reproductive loss: about 55000 experience early pregnancy loss, 1750 babies are still born and about 900 babies die in the first twenty-eight days after birth.

Pregnancy & Infant Awareness Day is held in October each year. This day is commemorated around the world with memorial services. SANDS Townsville commemorates this day with the Walk to Remember.

Parents, friends and families gather on this special day each year to participate in a memorial ceremony, butterfly release and walk along the Strand.

We walk for the steps they will never take......

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Registrations are now due by Thursday 8th October 2009. The venue has been changed from the Rotunda at Strand Park to near Tobruk Pool at the Strand.
